May is Bike Month and the Mayor of Folsom will be riding with about 150 people to the Capitol. This year is the 9th Annual Folsom Ride with the Mayor event. Folsom's Mayor Steve Miklos and 2016 Amgen Tour of California race ambassador "Fast Freddie" Rodriguez will enjoy a scenic ride along the American River Bike Trail from Historic Folsom to Sacramento. Along the 30-mile route, the group will converge with riders from Rancho Cordova and then continue to Discovery Park in Sacramento to join other cyclists from around the region.

Every May, residents in six-county Sacramento region challenge themselves to swap car trips for bicycle trips. Commute, errand, and recreation bicycle miles can all be logged online. Participants register, log miles, earn virtual badges, get event newsletters, and are entered from prize drawings at MayisBikeMonth.com.
