WOODLAND -- Cars parked under a carport at a Woodland apartment complex suffered heavy damage after resident say a driver - who was going way to fast - smashed into them around midnight Thursday morning.

"He had to go over the speed bumps at 40-50 miles an hour," resident John Stafford said.

Residents at the Autumn Run complex tell FOX40 the driver tried to run away after the crash, but a couple who also lives there pinned him down until police arrived.

FOX40 cameras caught an empty alcohol container inside the mini van driven by the man authorities caught up to.

Woodland Police say the driver was under the influence.
