Sheriff’s Department Investigating Death of Teen Girl Found in Car in South Sacramento

SOUTH SACRAMENTO — The body of a 16-year-old girl was found inside a parked vehicle in South Sacramento on Sunday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Just before 2:40 p.m., deputies were called out to Inisheer Way near Tervin Way in South Sacramento on reports of an unresponsive woman inside a car.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating. The girl died of an apparent gunshot wound.

The circumstances surrounding the death are still being investigated.
