PLACER COUNTY — Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison is charged with misdemeanor domestic violence charges, according to the Placer County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s office filed the charges Friday following a May 30 incident that led to his arrest at his Granite Bay home. According to officials, photographs of the female victim’s injuries obtained by the DA’s office and a copy of the 911 call the night of the arrest proved to be enough evidence for the charges to be filed.

“After review of the all the above evidence we have concluded there is sufficient evidence that will allow our office to file and prove this criminal case against Mr. Collison beyond a reasonable doubt,” the DA’s office said in a statement.

Collison also faces two separate charges unrelated to the May 30 incident. Those charges include domestic battery of a spouse for a separate incident that occurred that same night, as well as driving on a suspended license regarding a April 21 failure to appear.

The Kings player is set to be arraigned July 11 and faces up to one year in county jail.
