SACRAMENTO -- On the cold hard sidewalk where popular bars line the street lay the body of a man early Sunday morning.

Will Murti took his last breaths on the streets of Midtown. He was shot multiple times just before 2:00 a.m.

"Somebody wanted to hurt my boy, somebody had an intention to kill him," said Kainoa Murti, the victim's stepmother.

The Sacramento Police Department said the shooting on the 1500 block of 20th Street likely wasn't random, but who took Murti's life, and why they did it, is still a mystery.

The 36-year-old was also known as Will Starz because of the tattoos on his face. Those close to Murti remember him for his love of body art, his dogs and sports.

"He was a big Falcons fan," said the victim's aunt Lucy Morales. "He loved sports. He played baseball and always watched the football games,"

Murti's family said he was in and out of trouble with the law growing up, but he was trying to create a better life for himself. A life that was cut short.

"Please, somebody say something. Somebody help us find the reasons. Justice should be served," said Kainoa Murti.

No arrests have been made, but the Sac PD has talked to many witnesses. Anyone with information is urged to contact the department.

A GoFundMe account has been set up by the family:
