DAVIS-- Police in Davis executed search and arrest warrants last Thursday at the Braddock Court home of 43-year-old Eduardo Letelier and his wife Ximena's where the two ran a day care.
Letelier was ultimately arrested and booked, accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old and for resisting arrest.
"When officers arrived, the suspect ran out the back into a neighbors backyard in attempt to flee," said Davis Deputy Police Chief David Delaini.
When FOX40 visited the home Monday, a man who would not identify himself refused to comment.
Others on the quiet cul-de-sac weren't sure if they believed the accusations.
"I definitely give him the benefit of the doubt," said Nancy, a neighbor who did not want to give her last name.
One parent, who wanted to remain anonymous, said her child was enrolled in Ximena's Daycare and was glad the four-year-old came forward. However, she worries there are more victims out there.
"Allegations of this serious of a nature, we have to look at both sides, its a very serious accusation," Delaini said.
According to state records, Ximena's daycare has had no citations since being licensed back in 2001.
Letelier, who faces charges of oral copulation or penetration on a child under 10 years old and resisting arrest, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Yolo County.
