SACRAMENTO -- Nicolas Basalyga is raising money and awareness for addiction recovery on the road -- the bike lane, specifically.

"We want people to believe in recovery, that it's possible," he said. "We are taking it one mile a time across the country."

The journey began July 29 in San Francisco. Basalyga says he'll end his journey Oct. 1 in Philadelphia.

Monday, he rode through Sacramento to Placerville.

Basalyga knows he has a long road ahead of him, one he hopes is paved with promise and support. Along the way, riders are encouraged to join him.
