ROSEVILLE -- Roseville police have arrested 30-year-old Jose Ignacio Roid. He’s accused of videotaping a woman as she undressed in the bathroom of private home.  Police wouldn't say if the crime occurred inside his home.

Roid is a CHP officer and works in the Tahoe area. Investigators believe he did the recordings on his off time.

"This was not in the course of his employment. It was off duty conduct, so we don't think it's related to his employment," police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther said.

CHP issued a statement regarding the arrest. It reads in part:

"We take any allegations of misconduct by our employees whether on or off duty very seriously. CHP is fully cooperating with the investigating agencies. In addition the CHP is conducting its own investigation into the allegations."

The investigation into Roid started last Thursday, when the alleged victim notified police.

"Once the DA reviewed the evidence he filed five misdemeanor charges," Gunther said.

Investigators wouldn't say how or if the victim and suspect are acquainted.

On Monday,  Roid turned himself in to the Placer County Jail, where he was arrested and booked on the warrant.  He has since bailed out of jail.
