Healthy Choices for Back-to-School Meals

Bethany is in the studio with Registered Dietitian, Eileen Peterson, from Kaiser Permanente. Today, they are focusing on making healthy choices for your kids as they head back to school. These changes can not only help you save money but are easy enough for the kids to help make.

Lunch ideas:
Veggie wraps

Tortilla/banana-peanut butter

Tortilla (or flat bread): hummus, spinach, red peppers, string cheese, grated carrots, taco sauce

English muffin pizza: tomato sauce/paste (or a pizza sauce), grated cheese, veggie.

Snack ideas:
Wedged apples w/ peanut butter
Celery  w/ peanut butter or hummus
Dried raisins or cherries or cranberries or apricots
