Each week FOX40 highlights people in our area who try to make their community a better place. Today, we are highlighting the work of Visions in Motion.
Two moms from Elk Grove - Julie Acgaoili and Shirley Lewis were inspired by their children with special needs to create an Adult Day Program with a unique plan to give back to the community. If you're between the ages 18 and 59, you can learn to do just about anything at Visions in Motion.
This state-funded program allows students to adopt healthy lifestyles through exercising, gardening and cooking.
The program is also invested in giving back to the community. So, they teach students how to wash donated clothing and then the items are given to Clothes Closet in Elk Grove.
Visions in Motion needs volunteers and supplies. See how you can help out HERE.
