BEAUMONT — A brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in the Beaumont area quickly scorched at least 500 acres and left hundreds of people displaced, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The Bogart Fire started about 12:25 p.m. near International Park Road and Winesap Avenue, north of Beaumont, according to FOX40 sister station KTLA. One firefighter suffered a non-life threatening injury, approximately 700 people were displaced and 200 homes were evacuated, officials said.
Mandatory evacuations were issued for all residences on the Banning Bench, fire officials said.
The Highland Springs Village Mobile Home Park in Cherry Valley was also being evacuated by sheriff’s officials.
