Labor Day Treats from Patty Mastracco

Our friend Patty Mastracco stopped by to show us how to make some delicious treats for Labor Day. Here are her suggestions:

Grilled Naan Bread - Cut into strips, brush with olive oil and grill. Serve with an assortment of out of the ordinary, premade hummus spreads, or serve with a marinara sauce for dipping. Or make mini Naan Bread Pizza - a little marinara, a little fresh mozzarella, a little fresh basil. Easy to make ahead and bake or grill at the last minute.

Pulled Pork Fries - grilled pork cooked with in a ready made pulled pork sauce (a Rick Bayless product that I LOVE!). Serve over crispy baked fries and top with cheese and green onions.

Grilled Lemon Chicken Skewers - small bite size chicken strips that are grilled, and marinated in lemon juice and olive oil. Can top with a sprinkle of kalamata olives and feta if you like.

Mini Burgers - make tiny burgers and add different seasonings, such as Greek and feta, crumbled bacon, blue cheese and a steakhouse seasoning, turkey and Mexican seasoning.

Dessert - A simple mixture of preserves and fresh fruit, topped with ready made dough and baked in canning jars. Easy easy!
