YUBA CITY -- Hundreds of teachers in the Yuba City Unified School District are planning to strike over a wage impasse beginning at 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
They say they will be picketing outside several of the district's 17 schools.
The district and Yuba City Teacher's Association negotiated a salary package for one year before reaching the impasse.
The district has made substitute teacher arrangements and is encouraging parents to continue to send their kids to school.
After-school athletic programs, however, may be cancelled in cases where the coaches are striking teachers.
