The Adams 12 Five Star bus was carrying football players and coaches from Broomfield’s Legacy High School, according to a student who says he’s been texting with players on the bus.

The players were returning from a game against Chino Hills High School in California, according to Jacob Ramsey.

The players told Ramsey the driver had a medical issue and veered into an abutment just a few yards from the terminal.

Ramsey said players told him a coach was in the front seat and has serious injuries.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the legacy football team, coaches, and families❤️#legacystrong,” the Legacy High School student government posted on their Facebook page.

Officials with DIA said the east approach to Level 4 is closed due to traffic accident.
