This week for In Your Neighborhood Martina and Alisa are out in Stockton enjoying some of what the city has to offer.
Martina is getting to know 10-year-old Meliyah Amezquita a champion boxer. She ranked first in California after a recent event called Beautiful Brawlers -- She's also marked second in the nation in the Junior Olympics. Both Meliyah and her brother train with the Stockton Police Youth Activities Program.
Alisa is at the Wat Dhammararam Buddhist Temple- located at 3732 Carpenter Rd, Stockton, CA 95215. Wes Rhea is giving her a tour of the statues and explaining the meanings.
Martina is also visiting the RiverPoint Landing Marina-Resort at 4950 Buckley Cove to learn about how people can get into rowing and to see the club in action.
Alisa is also checking out Taps Barrel House, 1924 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204, to talk about Stockton Beer Week -- Barrel house has 28 beers on tap and are having a small festival for the week among other events.
During Stockton Beer Week, various venues all around Stockton work with breweries to create events that celebrate the local California craft beer industry. In previous years we saw beer festivals, beer dinners, the Brews & Shoes Walk/Run, beer movie nights, and much more!
Stockton Beer Week runs Septmber 16-25th--so what are you waiting for? It's time to get your craft brew on in Stockton!
