Sacramento County sheriffs are investigating a Saturday evening shooting in Oak Park that left one man dead, authorities say.
Sheriff's reported to the 4000 block of 44th Street around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a call of shots fired. When deputies arrived to the scene, they located a 25-year-old man lying in the driveway of a home with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner's office identified the man Sunday as 25-year-old Phillip Porraz of Sacramento.
According to the sheriff's department, initial reports suggest that the suspect was a passenger inside an SUV. When the car stopped in the street, the suspect got out of the car, approached the victim and fired several shots before fleeing down 44th Street in the SUV.
