SONOMA COUNTY — Firefighters are battling a 1,500 acre fire in the Geysers Road area of Sonoma County.

The fire has prompted the evacuation of more than 30 homes in the area.

Cal Fire says there is a lot of fuel for the fire as vegetation is extremely dry from the ongoing drought and temperatures are in the 90s.

The fire is just 10 percent contained.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has ordered mandatory evacuations for Geysers Road on the Cloverdale side from Pine Mountain Road to Geysers Resort Road.
