Blue Angels’ Capital Airshow Performance Canceled

SACRAMENTO — The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, canceled its Saturday performance after one of its pilots got sick, officials announced.

The pilot, Cmdr. Ryan Bernacchi, contracted a food sickness and is being medically evaluated by doctors in hopes he will be ready for Sunday’s performance.

According to a statement, Sunday’s performance is scheduled to go on as planned. Airshow officials say patrons of today’s show can use their tickets to get access to Sunday’s performance.
