Boy Arrested For ‘Creepy Clown’ School Shooting Threat

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Police Department announced the arrest of a 12-year-old boy in connection with a social media post threatening to shoot teachers and the students at local schools.

Thursday afternoon an Instagram post from the handle “mozzytheclown” said the account user was going to play a game and roll dice determining which of five local schools were going to be victims of the shooting that would include teachers and students.

“My guess was that he had no idea this was going to be the result,” says Marysville Police Chief Aaron Easton.

Detectives received a warrant and contacted Facebook which is the parent company of Instagram where the posting was made by the boy.

Facebook was able to provide the police department with the Internet provider information that would allow them to pinpoint where the message came from.

The police department says among those shocked to hear that it was a young boy that was behind the post were his parents who were planning on keeping him and his siblings home from school because of the threat.
