SACRAMENTO -- Two men are dead and a third is in serious condition after a shooting on Brookfield Drive in South Sacramento.

Around 5 p.m. Saturday a young resident on the 4700 block Brookfield Drive told her parents she heard gunshots.

They didn’t believe her until Sacramento Police showed up at the house next door.

Police say they found two men shot in the garage. Both were taken to the hospital where one died and the other is in serious condition.

As officers continued through the home, they found a third man shot dead in a bedroom.

Police say it is too early so rule this a murder-suicide however they believe the shooter died inside the home.

Neighbors tell FOX40, the people who live in the home are young male roommates. Police couldn’t say how the three men shot are connected or if they even live at the home.

There may be a number of people who can clear that up. In addition to the surviving victim, police say there were others home at the time of the shooting.

“I don’t know if they were in the same room when the shooting occurred but there were other people inside the residence,” said Officer Traci Trapini with the Sacramento Police Department.
