SOUTH LAKE TAHOE -- Authorities resumed searching for a missing Cessna aircraft that was returning to Sacramento from Idaho on Sunday afternoon.

The pilot was the only person aboard the plane that has been reported as overdue.

Poor weather conditions limited the search effort Sunday, but search aircraft resumed operations Monday morning.

The Civil Air Patrol and the El Dorado Sheriff's Office are searching for the missing plane. The plane's last known location was above a rugged area of the Sierra southwest of Lake Tahoe.
