PAYSON, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say the bodies of two California residents who were believed to be drowning victims have been recovered from a north-central Arizona creek.

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office says the bodies of Jainish Kumar Patel and Bhavesh Patel, both 30 and both from San Jose, were recovered Sunday from Fossil Creek below Fossil Creek Falls.

The search for the bodies began late Saturday after authorities received a 911 call about a possible double drowning and resumed Sunday.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation continues.
