Off-Duty Officer Shoots, Kills Armed Suspect

STOCKTON -- The Stockton Police Department is investigating an incident involving an off-duty sheriff's deputy.

The incident began around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex located on Benjamin Holt Drive in the 3500 block.

It is reported that the off-duty San Joaquin County sheriff's deputy was involved in a confrontation with two masked and armed men.

The deputy then pulled out his firearm and shot one of the suspects; the other suspect ran away from the complex.

So far, investigators have recovered a mask as well as a gun that they believe belonged to the suspect.

This incident is still under investigation. The Stockton Police Department asks that anyone who may know the suspect or witnessed the confrontation contact them.
