Kennedy High School Grad Killed in Reno Hit-and-Run

SACRAMENTO -- A tragic hit-and-run in Reno is hitting close to home for some in Sacramento.

A Kennedy High School graduate, who was hit on North Virginia and 17th streets in Reno on Saturday has died.

Friends and family of Alex Trussell are remembering him as a bigger than life personality -- an extrovert who never had an enemy.

He worked in Reno as a teacher.

Reno police say Trussell was in the crosswalk when he was hit. The driver took off but was eventually caught.

Trussell was put on life support after the crash and passed away on Tuesday.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Brian Pippen.

Police believe alcohol and marijuana were factors in the crash.
