Small Business Saturday Shines Light on Local Businesses with All-Day Activities

SACRAMENTO — Businesses all over Midtown, Downtown and Historic Old Folsom are participating in the seventh annual Small Business Saturday to promote local holiday shopping.

Local farmer’s markets and ice skating rinks will be in participation. Horse carriage rides will be available in Historic Old Folsom from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and shops in the district will also be open late just for the event. Live entertainment will be available all day.

The Downtown Sac #ShopSmall Welcome Station at the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink is handing out shopping tote bags to shoppers from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Art of Toys in Midtown will be offering free hot cider and treats. Sugar Shack Boutique will also be offering 20 percent off the entire store.

The Midtown Mascot holiday elf will be rollerblading throughout the city, passing out free carnations on behalf of Relles Florist.

Along with all of the activities happening around town, the city of Sacramento is offering free parking for Saturday as well as weekdays after 4:30 p.m. and all day on weekends through Dec. 5.
