STOCKTON — Police in Stockton say a woman threw hot grease at officers after trying to start a kitchen fire late Monday.

According to a post on the Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page, officers responded to a home on Montgomery Avenue to find a woman, later identified by police as 46-year-old Elsarie Deloney, holding a pot of grease that was smoking.

Police said Deloney threw the grease at the officers and a K-9 but was hit by a Taser. None of the officers, including the K-9, was significantly hurt.

Deloney was booked into jail on charges of assaulting an officer, assault on a police K-9 and resisting arrest.
