Sacramento Fire Crews Rescue Several People Trapped on Flooded Islands

SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Fire Department rescued several people who were trapped on islands Sunday near the American River.

Rescue crews were dispatched to the islands located around Del Paso Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard, the Sacramento Fire Department reported at 10 a.m.

Moments later, Sacramento Fire tweeted that all the people trapped in the flooded areas were safely brought to shore.

Crews were still trying to rescue a dog, but left the scene when they were unable to locate the animal.

There are no reports regarding the incidents leading up to the group getting stuck on the islands.
