SACRAMENTO — Sacramento Fire crews rescued four people in two hours on Thursday night.

The department’s fire rescue and boat crews were busy rescuing four people in three separate incidents.

Water releases from the Folsom and Nimbus dams reached a season high Thursday, and huge amounts of water came down the American River.

Several areas that haven’t seen high water in many years turned into islands. Victims had to be rescued from the islands and brought to shore.
