AUBURN — Multiple fire crews worked to free a truck driver Saturday morning following a crash on Interstate 80.

A Ryder box truck crashed into the back of another truck, crushing its cabin as it drove eastbound just west of Foresthill Road.

Four crews with the Auburn Fire Department and Cal Fire had to work to extricate the box truck driver, who has been hospitalized with major injuries.

What led up to the crash is still unknown.
