Man Shot in Head While Driving in North Highlands

SACRAMENTO -- One man was hurt in a shooting in North Highlands on Monday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

The man was found in the backyard of a home on Altadena Way near Myrtle Avenue, less than a mile away from American River College.

He was found shot in the head, while in a car. Police believe the man was driving down the road, was shot, lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a fence and went into the backyard.

He is listed in critical condition.
