Police Investigating After Two Bodies Found in South Sacramento Home

SOUTH SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Police Department is investigating after two bodies were found in a home on Bonniemae Way on Wednesday afternoon.

Neighbors crowd Bonniemae Way on Wednesday, confused about a crime scene on their quiet street.

"It's like 'What happened? What happened?'" neighbor Adela Garcia said.

The calm South Sacramento neighborhood was shaken by a death investigation.

The Sacramento Police Department says two bodies were found inside a home on Bonniemae Way on Wednesday afternoon.

Tom Martin says his friend who lives nearby was called to check on someone inside the home when he made the shocking discovery.

"He had the code for her alarm, he walked in and saw what was happening, then he called the police," Martin said.

An emotional woman was escorted away after she heard the news.

Major crime investigators, CSI units and other detectives took over the street -- talking to neighbors and combing through evidence. They say the deaths aren't natural, but  not much information has been released.

The Sacramento Police Department has only said that an elderly woman and man were found dead. They say their is a possible family relationship between the two, but they have not said if it's a homicide or suicide. They did say those who live in the area are safe.

"At this point we believe it to be an isolated incident," said Sacramento police spokesperson Linda Matthew.

Police said the victims were a man and woman, both elderly. The cause or causes of their deaths will be determined by an autopsy.

"She was just absolutely great, it didn't matter what it was, you felt at home with her and everything. I'm just in total shock about the whole thing," Martin said.

While investigators go in and out of the home working to solve the crime neighbors are relying on each other for support.
