SACRAMENTO — A car crashed into a light rail station in downtown Sacramento at noon Monday.

The Sacramento Police Department reports a pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and was hospitalized with moderate injuries. The driver of the car also sustained minor injuries.

Regional Transit says light rail service was not affected, but the ticket and Connect Card machines at the 7th and Capitol station were seriously damaged.

Machines on the other side of the station still work, RT said.

It was not immediately known what caused the crash.
