    ROSEVILLE — A box truck hit the back of a semi-truck in Roseville on Wednesday afternoon, trapping the driver of the box truck when the two vehicles stuck together.   • More Than 3,000 Customers Without Power in West Sacramento

    WEST SACRAMENTO — More than 3,000 customers are without power in West Sacramento on Tuesday night, police said. PG&E is reporting 3,094 outages in the Southport area of West Sacramento. Originally, it was believed lightning struck a power substation in the area. Lightning has since been ruled out as the cause of the outage. No other information was immediately available.   • Sacramento Police Investigate Deadly Shooting in Del Paso Heights

    SACRAMENTO — The Sacramento Police Department investigated a deadly shooting in the Del Paso Heights area on Monday night. The shooting happened on Elm Street near Harris Avenue. Police say a man was shot to death in a car. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Cody James.     Equipment Stolen from Riverbank Youth Baseball-Softball Association

    RIVERBANK — Police are asking residents to be on the lookout after some equipment was stolen from the Riverbank Youth Baseball-Softball Association over the weekend. Someone broke into the RYBSA storage and stole brand new baseball helmets. The helmets had just been purchased by the league for young players to use during games. The RYBSA is a small league and say the theft is a huge hit that impacts the kids. Anyone with information is asked to call (209) 869-7162.

  • Woman Accused of Using Fraudulent Checks at Auburn Businesses

    AUBURN — The Placer County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman accused of using fraudulent checks at multiple Auburn businesses. Detectives say 50-year-old Deborah Wilson got the victim’s account information following a car burglary on Education Street, where the victim’s purse was stolen. Detectives say Wilson is a transient in the Auburn area, and they found her at a homeless shelter in Auburn. Wilson was booked into the Auburn Main Jail and her bail is set at $150,000.

    RANCHO MURIETA — Deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man who had barricaded himself inside a hangar at the Rancho Murieta Airport on Sunday night. Deputies responded to the airport about 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a man who was making threats to others. When deputies arrived, they found the man had barricaded himself and was armed.   • Police Arrest One Suspect, Search for Another in Connection to Deadly Modesto Shooting

    MODESTO — Police in Modesto have arrested one man and are searching for another in connection to a deadly shooting. On Wednesday night, officers responded to Orchard Park Way near Floyd Avenue for a reported assault. Officers found 31-year-old David Reyes with a gunshot wound to the leg.
