    Sheriff’s Department Investigating Shooting in North Highlands

    NORTH HIGHLANDS — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting in North Highlands. The shooting happened about 9:25 p.m. near Hillsdale Boulevard and Greenholme Drive.   • Business 80 Shut Down Near E Street as Crews Battled Fire

    SACRAMENTO — An RV fire on the shoulder of westbound Business 80 near E Street spread to nearby vegetation, according to the Sacramento Fire Department. All lanes of westbound Business 80 were shut down.  They have since been reopened. The fire started with an RV but quickly spread to nearby vegetation. Fire officials say about 20 acres burned.   • Man Recovering After Being Hit by Bicyclist Along American River Parkway

    SACRAMENTO — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a bicyclist along the American River Parkway on Tuesday night. Bill Finkbeiner has skull and hand fractures and is missing teeth following the hit-and-run crash.     STOCKTON — A family is looking for answers after a 3-year-old girl died while undergoing a dental procedure in Stockton on Monday.     SACRAMENTO — The Department of Corrections and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are looking for an inmate who was mistakenly released on Tuesday.
