    STOCKTON — A mother has been arrested on child abuse charges after her toddler died after suffering from head trauma, police said.     MODESTO — A Modesto man accused of breaking into multiple community mailboxes was arrested following a traffic stop on Friday. Officers stopped 25-year-old Matthew Boone early Friday morning and found he had a warrant out for his arrest.     Evacuation Orders Lifted for Fire Burning in Plumas County

    PLUMAS COUNTY — A fire in the Chilcoot area of Plumas County prompted evacuation orders on Sunday night. Chilcoot south of Highway 70 was under mandatory evacuation orders, according to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.     OAKDALE — Police in Oakdale arrested two men and a woman following a counterfeit money investigation. Convenience stores, fast food restaurants and other local businesses had reported people trying to use fake $20, $50 and $100 bills.
