    MODESTO — A swimmer went missing Friday in the Modesto Reservoir, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. The 21-year-old man has been missing since 4 p.m., after he swam with his friends toward an island in a cove along the main boat ramp.   • Dashcam Footage Shows Solano Deputies Helping Out ‘Wayward Llama’

    SOLANO COUNTY — A couple of deputies had to think on their feet ¬†when they came upon a “wayward llama” in a roadway, reports the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. Sped up dashcam footage shows Solano County Sheriff’s Deputies Hollingsworth and Austin moving the llama off the roadway to fasten a rope around its neck. With a bit of an audience watching them, the deputies were able to calm the llama down and get it safely back to its pasture.

  • Truckee Officer Rescues Fawn Stuck in Drainage Ditch

    TRUCKEE — A Truckee officer rescued a cold and wet fawn Monday after he noticed that she was stuck in a drainage ditch. CHP says Sgt. Fisher spotted the fawn on Interstate 80 with one of her legs trapped in the drain.     SACRAMENTO — Swastikas were spray-painted onto the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in midtown Sacramento. The vandalism at the Catholic church on 26th and K streets is being investigated by the Sacramento Police Department as a hate crime.
