  • Two Modesto 14-Year-Olds Arrested for School Shooting Threat

    MODESTO — Two 14-year-olds were arrested Friday after calling a Modesto middle school and threatening that there would be a school shooting. Hanshaw Middle School went into lockdown early Friday morning following the call, according to the Modesto Police Department. Officers later arrested the two teenage girls on suspicion of conspiracy and making terrorist threats. They also discovered the girls were connected to another call made last week to Mark Twain Junior High School in Modesto.

    BEAR VALLEY — Search and rescue teams have been searching Bear Valley for a missing skier since Wednesday night. According to the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, Jane Drummond-Mullarkey reported her husband, Thomas Mullarkey, had not returned to their cabin in Arnold after skiing at Bear Valley Mountian Resort.   • Police Investigating Shooting in Modesto; 4 Hospitalized

    MODESTO — Four people were hospitalized after a shooting in Modesto. Police are on scene at Robertson Road, where three men and one woman were shot at while inside of a closed garage. The Modesto Police Department reports one person is in serious condition and three people sustained non-life threatening injuries. All four are in stable condition.   • Firefighters Battle Large Blaze at Stockton Recycling Center

    STOCKTON — Firefighters are battling a large fire at a recycling center. Crews are on scene on North Filbert Street and Weber Avenue at the East Stockton Transfer Recycling Station. They are separating piles of recycling to try and reduce the flames. Pacific Gas and Electric teams arrived to check powerlines near the area.   • 9-Year-Old Dies after Being Hit by Car in Stockton

    STOCKTON — A young girl has died after she was hit by a car Tuesday in Stockton. Around 3:40 p.m., the 9-year-old was hit while crossing Carolyn Weston Boulevard near Ishi Goto Street. A passerby performed CPR on the girl until medical personnel arrived. She has been flown to the UC Davis Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.     STOCKTON — The community’s help is needed in locating the driver suspected in the hit-and-run of a 66-year-old man on Saturday. Around 7:25 p.m., the Stockton Police Department reported Jesus Madrid was hit on East Main Street and Searchlight Avenue. He later died at an area hospital from his injuries.     TULARE COUNTY — A woman was stabbed trying to protect her daughter during a bus ride Monday after deputies say a woman with a knife threatened to kill the 3-year-old.   • Coyote Released into the Wild after Being Found with Jar on Her Head

    AUBURN — After four weeks, a coyote, lovingly named Ms. Jarhead Coyote, was released into the wild Sunday. Gold Country Wildlife Rescue said the coyote was in critical condition when she was found wandering between Placer and El Dorado counties with a jar stuck on her head.
