Martina Del Bonta is excited to be back in her hometown working for FOX40. She grew up in Elk Grove, and graduated from Elk Grove High School and U.C. Berkeley.

Martina bounced around from Fargo, to Missouri and last was the Weekend Sports Anchor in Tulsa, OK covering the Thunder, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. Martina’s won multiple broadcasting awards in Oklahoma and Missouri and most recently was nominated for an Emmy.

She’s excited to return home to root for her Kings and Cal Bears (and of course the Thundering Herd).

  • ‘Carbaret on K’ Fundraiser Raises Money for Women’s Empowerment

    The upcoming “Cabaret on K” fundraiser will raise money for Women’s Empowerment, a Sacramento organization aimed at getting homeless women back on the path toward employment. The event will be held Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the basement of the Capitol Plaza Ballrooms. Local artists will be in attendance, including muralists from the Wide Open Walls festival.   • ‘The Fruits of Our Labor Day’ Wine Tasting with Peltier Winery

    Rodney Schatz , proprietor of Peltier Winery and Vineyards, introduces some of the wines that will be available at the “Fruits of Our Labor Day” wine tasting. From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday go on a tour through the cellar and barrel rooms and visit the vineyard. The wine tasting will be $40 for the public and $32 for wine club members.     Martina and Simone are hanging out at two local high schools as well as two local eateries in the Antelope neighborhood.  Martina visited Antelope High School to check out their student government, dance/cheer teams and their band as they host a pep rally for their first football game.

    MCCLELLAN — The Aerospace Museum of California is hosting a special event and opening up around 20 planes for families to enjoy on Father’s Day.
