Bio

LuanaCropped2I joined the FOX40 news team in August this year. I have been in the news business in some form or fashion for five years. I most recently anchored a morning show and reported for the ABC affiliate in St. Joseph, Mo.

I started in print journalism as an intern with “Tu Ciudad” Los Angeles Magazine. I entered the world of broadcast news when CNN Espanol in Washington DC offered me an internship. I enjoyed the quick pace of television news and interned at a couple more places including KTLA in Los Angeles before landing my first paid on air reporting gig in Bakersfield, CA.

On my days off you can catch me hanging out with my family or eating a burger and fries while watching my Giants or fellow Bruins play ball.

I’m known around the newsroom for…
I’m known as “Lu”, a name Ben Deci so kindly gave me.

What keeps me going
What keeps me going is my faith in God, doing good work, and knowing that I am making a difference in someone else’s life

I give back to my community by
Working with kids at my church

Why FOX40?
Because the people I work with and our viewers are amazing!

My greatest TV moment
My greatest TV moment was helping a family in Bakersfield that was being mistreated to get back what had been taken from them.

If I had free time, I would…
I would walk around Old Sac, eat out and watch movies and sports.
