Roommate Deeply Concerned for Missing Woman

Danielle Pruden

Danielle Pruden, a Sacramento woman who hadn’t been heard from since Friday, was found “alive and well” in Calaveras County, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

Pruden was new to the Sacramento area, according to her roommate, and left her home without notice.

Her family had also become concerned after she stopped checking in daily.

Megan Shuts has only known her new roommate Danielle Pruden for a short amount of time, ever since she moved in last week.

But the two formed an immediate bond.

“During that whole week me and her we were hanging out every day and going to the gym and I’d gotten to know her really well,” Shuts told FOX40.

Then on Friday, April 18, Danielle said she was going out for a few hours. That was the last time anyone has heard from her.

“She didn’t take her tooth brush, she didn’t take any of her hair products, I mean this is all stuff that a girl would want to take,” Shuts said while looking through Pruden’s bathroom. “It’s just really weird.”

Shuts said she knows something is wrong because Pruden left behind her puppy a Yorkshire terrier named Weston.

“I mean she loved that thing, he’s just this little Yorkie, he’s so cute. She’s a mom, she has that motherly instinct, she wouldn’t do that,” Shuts said.

The Sacramento Sheriff’s department also believes something is wrong.

Detectives have made contact with Pruden’s family in Kentucky, where her daughter lives.

Typically, she would call and check in daily.

“She has not been contacting her family back in Kentucky as she has every single day since March 20th. Her cell phone is now disconnected,” said Lisa Bowman, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who has seen Pruden’s car, a tan PT Cruiser convertible with a black top and Kentucky plates.

Shuts also warns the photo of Pruden released by the Sheriff’s Department is misleading, because she now has blonde hair.

She also said her voice is unique.

“A really thick southern accent,” Shuts said.

Shuts has been searching in Pruden’s room, where she left much of her belongings, but so far she’s found no clues.

She just hopes her friend is okay.

“She doesn’t know anybody out here and I feel like right now I’m going crazy and nobody else is and it just sucks,” Shuts said.

Pruden, Danielle

Officials note that Danielle Pruden, missing since April 18, currently has blonde hair.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for 29-year-old Danielle Pruden, who has been missing since Friday.

Pruden was last seen leaving her Demuth Circle home in her 2006 cream-colored Chrysler PT Cruiser. The car has a Kentucky license plate 147PZB.

She is described as a white woman with shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. Pruden is 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 155 pounds.

The Sheriff’s Department considers Pruden to be at risk because her disappearance is “inconsistent” with her normal behavior.

Anyone that knows anything about where Pruden may be is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

The California Highway Patrol issued a statewide AMBER Alert out of Long Beach Monday.

Nicholas Johnson, 12, was reportedly abducted by 49-year-old Sri Johnson last Thursday.

Nicholas is described as white, 4 feet 8 inches tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Sri Johnson is also described as white, and stands at 5 feet 1 inch tall.

Officials describe the suspect vehicle as a tan, 1998 Saturn 4-door sedan with California plates 4AUU679.
