National Signing Day, Northern California Athletes

Jim Crandell highlights where some of the top athletes in our area are headed for college.

California State University, Sacramento and U.C. Davis gained a combined 32 football players Wednesday on National Signing Day.

Sac State added 17 athletes, including five from the immediate Sacramento area.

U.C. Davis added 15 signees, including one from Portland, Ore.

The 17 new Sac State athletes join nine midyear signees.


Vanderdoes Signs with Notre Dame


Five-star defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes has signed his letter of intent to play football at the University of Notre Dame.

Vanderdoes, a senior at Placer High School, was one of the most sought-after recruits in northern California. He was visited by recruiters from University of Alabama, USC, UCLA and Washington.
