More than 18 hours after a big rig truck caught fire along Highway 99 in Galt there is still one lane closed.
The highway must be repaired, and there are issues delaying the construction.
Traffic was very slow all Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, drivers are being encouraged to use I-5 through the Galt area.

The northbound Highway 99 off-ramp at Twin Cities Road in Galt was shut down Thursday night so crews could make emergency repairs to the asphalt.
Traffic slowed to a crawl earlier that afternoon after a big rig had caught on fire on the off-ramp.

A burning big rig is slowing traffic to a crawl on northbound Highway 99 at Twin Cities Road in Galt Thursday afternoon.
The overpass has been closed, no word when it might reopen.
California Highway Patrol says the truck had hit several other cars.
Cosumnes Fire Department tweeted information that at least one person had been taken to the hospital.
The truck was reportedly carrying hot sauce.
