Sketch Released of Stockton Homicide Suspect

STOCKTON-

Stockton Police are hoping to solve their first homicide of 2013, and released a sketch drawing of the alleged suspect.

A witness to Sunday morning’s shooting worked with Police to make this sketch. The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20’s, standing about 5’6’’ and weighing about 170lbs.

He is accused of killing 34-year-old Bryant Lee Howell. Howell was found with a gunshot wound near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Lincoln Street. He was taken to the hospital, but later died.

Officers arrived near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Lincoln Street just before 2:30 a.m. to find Bryant Lee Howell, 34, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Howell was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police say the shooting was not gang related.

Howell’s death marks Stockton’s first homicide of 2013. There were no homicides in the entire month of January, after a record-breaking 71-homicide 2012.

After a reported shooting early Sunday morning, Stockton has seen its first homicide of 2013.

Officers showed up near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Lincoln Street just before 2:30 a.m. after getting a report of a person shot.

At the scene, officers found that a 34-year-old man had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital, but later died of his injuries.

Stockton saw a record 71 homicides in 2012.
