Scattered valley and foothill showers are on tap Monday with periods of snowfall in the Sierra above 3,000 feet. Valley temperatures will likely reach the low 50s in the afternoon, while the foothills peak in the 40s. Temperatures around Lake Tahoe will likely stay below freezing. Much calmer and slightly warmer weather ahead mid-week through the weekend.
