Jason Gilley, the man arrested in connection to the disappearance of 23-year-old Dalene Carlson, spoke exclusively with FOX40 just after he was released from jail and charges against were dropped.
“I just hope she’s found soon so we could all get over this. It’s just… it hurts. I hope she’s found and safe,” Gilley said outside of his Stockton home.
The search for Carlson led investigators to the Calaveras River. By nightfall, the search came up empty, but cops will continue the search at 7 a.m. Thursday.
Carlson was last seen the early morning hours of August 7, after leaving Finnegan’s Pub. A few minutes later, the pari is seen on surveillance at nearby Food4Less.
“I’ve known her from the bar, along with a lot of other people,” Gilley said. “I really haven’t known her for that long. Just to be accused of this, really hurts.”
Police considered Gilley a person of interest, and after questioning him, arrested him on felony charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment.
“I’m not that person that you all see on T.V.,” he said. “I’m a kind person. I don’t push myself on anybody. Everybody that knows me, knows that.”
