A Sacramento smog shop was broken into early Friday; burglars outsmarted both an alarm system and surveillance cameras.

An alarm system at El Camino Smog and Repair went off and the store has surveillance cameras, but the burglars turned off the lights as soon as they entered, making it impossible to make out who they were from the footage.

The owner of the store discovered the break-in around 2 a.m.

Burglars broke through the glass door behind the business, and went through the cash register leaving behind only change. The owner did not disclose how much money was taken.

This is the first time the store has been hit during their eight years in business.
