“Theres a big dude that comes in with like a gun he’s pointing at her…” words from an 11-year-old girl, Jeneva, who was inside a West La Loma apartment, where two armed men barged their way inside, shot and killed two people Monday night.
The suspects are still out there.
“He nudged me when he opened the door and then I hit my head… then the other dude walks in and I ran in the closet and hid,” Jeneva said, recalling her harrowing experience.
Jeneva’s mother, Wendy, is grateful her daughter is alive. But she’s fearful because her daugher is a “star witness in all of this.”
The gunman initially focused their attention on Sandra Foster, one of the victims who’s best friends with Wendy.
“She was screaming and that’s the last thing I heard of her,” Jeneva said. “Then I heard a gunshot.”
The suspects then turned their sites on James Angelonis. Friends say Foster was his caregiver.
“Poor Jim. He was just sitting there,” Jeneva said. “He’s like an elderly (guy). He can barely move. I heard two gunshots.”
And those gunshots left Foster and Angelonis dead.
“It was so fast. Just like that. Just boom, boom,” Jeneva added.
“She hit in the closet until she didn’t hear any movement for 30 seconds,” Wendy said. “Then she ran home.”
