A three-alarm fire turned a vacant Stockton apartment into a type of tinderbox Monday night.

The building on Rosemarie Lane was boarded up, allowing the fire to burn unnoticed for a while. Four units on the first floor were damaged, along with about 200 feet of hallway.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a hospital.

No one has confirmed a cause, but neighbors say they have seen transients around the building and firefighters are aware this type of fire could happen again.
