Three teenagers have been arrested after a violent robbery Saturday night – with their descriptions matching the suspects in two earlier attempted robberies.
Police found and arrested a 17-year-old boy and two girls, aged 13 and 17, behind a business near Lincoln Street and Harding Way after a 25-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed nearby.
The woman was kicked in the head and sustained a laceration to her face. She had to be treated at a local hospital.
Earlier in the day, two other attempted robberies were reported within 20 minutes of each other. A 18-year-old woman was targeted in the first attempt, near Commerce and Cleveland Streets, when three teenage suspects approached her and demanded her wallet and keys.
The young woman fought back, and despite getting hit in the head with the handle of a knife, she was able to fend off the suspects.
A 60-year-old woman was targeted in the next attempt, which happened near E Mariposa Avenue and N San Joaquin Street. Three teenage suspects approached the woman as she was cleaning her car and again tried to take her wallet and keys.
However, the woman also fought back and was able to fend the suspects off.
