At Monday night’s WWE “Monday Night Raw” taping, punches weren’t just for the fight in the ring;a fan also saw the business side of wrestler CM Punk’s fist.

The problem is CM Punk hit the wrong guy. The man who struck him in the back of the head is not the one he lunged at.

The incident happened during a segment with Vince McMahon that involved C M Punk standing unprotected in the middle of the crowd. C M Punk’s character is a bad guy and you can see fans heckling and poking him before he reacts.

WWE apologizes for not providing their fighter and the fans enough protection.

“Unfortunately, a few fans began shoving him and one struck him in the kidney and on the back. WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place, and C M Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment,” WWE said in a statement.

The man hit was not seriously injured, but a report has been filed with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office, although it will be up to the District Attorney if charges will be filed.
