Downtown Sacramento Partnership began work building the downtown ice rink Monday.

For the last 21 years, the St. Rose of Lime Park on 7th and K Streets has been turned into an open air ice rink for the holidays.

The DSP says Mondays at the rink will be Date Nights, Tuesdays will be Family Skate Nights, skaters get special discounts at the nearby Downtown Plaza on Wednesday nights and DJs will be on hand for “Theme Night Thursdays.”

The ice rink is scheduled to open Nov. 2.
