With the winter weather barreling in overnight, shop keepers are stocked and ready for the rush.

“We stock up on our tarps, the usual stuff, our roof sealant, duct tape, a lot of the things. Sand bags, pretty much getting ready for everybody rushing in the last minute,” said Eric Ciraulo, manager of Ace Hardware.

That last minute dash for supplies happens every year, and as usual, certain items are selling faster than others.

“Tarps and furniture covers,” Ciraulo said when asked what he would say was flying off the shelves Sunday.

Ciraulo does have some advice to help keep the water at bay if you happen to be caught without the supplies needed this storm season.

“If the rain’s coming, just try to keep things clear. If you know you’ve got any leaks, take care of them, so you aren’t having larger problems down the road. We’ve got everything stocked up that you pretty much need and stay on top of it. Just keep ahead what you can,” Ciraulo said.
