A 15-year-old Granite Bay boy sits in Placer County Juvenile Hall in Auburn after being arrested for a Wednesday night firebombing and attempted homicide.

Placer County Sheriff’s say the teen threw a rock through a window of a home on Brentwood Way, and then a bottle of flammable liquid, which then started a fire.

The family in the home was woken up by the smoke alarm and was able to put out the fire, investigators say.

In the ensuing arson investigation, detectives were led to the teen’s home, which was nearby.

The teen was booked into juvenile hall for attempted homicide charges and throwing an incendiary or destructive device.
